Lesion Scoring Session as One of Nuevo Milenio Inc.’s Hallmark Services for Livestock Farmers in the Philippines

by Jane Khrisha Sandigan, DVM

During the week of January 20 to January 24, a total of three semi-integrator farms are visited to conduct one of Nuevo Milenio Inc.’s hallmark services focused on the detection of coccidiosis in poultry animals featuring Dr. David Pang from Impextraco-Asia. Considering that lesion scoring is not just a practical tool to investigate the situation of the farm in terms of prevalence of coccidiosis – but also this provides us the general outlook to which we can provide further recommendations centered for the safety and welfare of our livestock, as well as for a more secure and resilient farm management.

Nowadays, it is critical to apply the importance of a working biosecurity, nutrition, and health protocol in every farm. Emerging animal diseases such as  Avian Influenza, New Castle Disease, Infectious Bronchitis, Marek’s disease, Salmonellosis, and more are tormenting the Philippine poultry industry. Adding to this is the worsening climate conditions which brings heavier challenges to farm owners rearing locally. Despite these problems, Nuevo Milenio Inc. is firmly committed to provide the most prudent solutions to our client’s concerns. We believe that understanding and catering to the needs of our farmers, farm owners and their staff creates a platform for unifying our goals for sustainable farm practices.

With this, we are grateful to all the people behind this another productive and successful Lesion Scoring Session. This would surely not be the last, but a part of many sessions to look forward to for the year 2025.
